Is using btsync plugin with latest iOS btsync plugin still possible?

When I send a btsync plugin generated link to iOS device, it redirects me to something saying getsync.com or so.

My wife's phone auto updated to the newest version but our server is still on version 1.4 and they communicate just fine.
