I have an HP ProLiant N36L MicroServer with 4GB RAM and 2x 2TB HDDs.
I have tried to install FreeNAS 8.0.4, 64-bit, then 32-bit, from the DVD drive but after about the 5th line that the boot loader outputs, the server reboots. Thus it never gets to the point that I actually see a menu. I've also tried to install it from a USB flash disk but keep getting an error of "cpu does not support long mode".
I had the HDDs set up in RAID 1 using the hardware RAID manager but have also removed the RAID configuration. This still did not solve the problem.
I have no more ideas left. Has anyone managed to install FreeNAS 8.0.3 or 8.0.4 onto an HP ProLiant N36L MicroServer? Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
