... so I added a VM running Windows 10 Pro. It mounts and runs fine. Now I want to add a storage volume to said VM. Steps taken include:
  1. Create a new pool on a single SSD
  2. Create a ZVOL on said SSD
  3. Shut down Win10
  4. Turn off VM
  5. Add Device to VM with a higher Device ID than all other options to prevent WIN10 to boot from said ZVOL. -> AHCI, points to new ZVOL
  6. Restart VM, boot into Windows 10
However, Win10 is not showing the extra drive. What steps do I have to take in Win10 to get the drive to show up? Two SATA drives show up in the Device Manager (BHYVE SATA DISK) but I don't get the usual "Hey, you just attached a disk, want to initialize it? dialog. So what am I doing wrong? Is it perhaps impossible to add disks to a Win10 VM later on?

Right click on This Computer --> Manage - there you will find the storage manager to initialise the new disk.

Whoohoo! Thank you! I wish they could add that vital tidbit to the VM guide...

Sorry, but that goes into the Windows documentation, not the TrueNAS one, I guess.
