Just setup a HP ProLiant N40L Ultra Micro Tower Server 2- Kingston 4GB 240-Pin DD and 4 2Tb WD Discs, FreeNAS-8.0.4-RELEASE-x64 (10351)
configured the volumes as a RAIDZ-2 after doing a little research
was a little surprised to find i only have 3.5TB of available space so have done a lot more research and the general consensus is that this set up may struggle with the RAID-2 configuration.
As this is a back up machine and will only be using Apple time machine on this system I wonder if this level of security is over the top as it is unlikely that my backup system will fail at the same times as my various other HDDs in my main computer.
Should I be using RAIDZ or any other option and if so can any tell me how to wipe and remake the volume
