I was able to get the Dell equivalent, the Power Edge T20 for $164 but looks like they're out of stock of them now...

The Lenovo you got looks like another great option for people who don't have a ton of cash and don't need anything super crazy.

If that Dell comes with ECC then its a steal. I looked at the page and it just said DDR3 but not ECC. Is it ECC ram?

Oh I have cash, but I like getting the best bang for the buck. I just needed this for backup storage at the office. RAID 1 ZFS is all I need.

It is Hynix ECC RAM but I don't plan on using it; I plan on using just the (2) 8gb sticks in the Crucial kit.

well I thought I had a great deal, that dell is only slightly below the TS140 specs so close there would be no difference in performance.

So you get the win for Best bang for the buck NAS under 300.00. So far that is. Well its not available, so its a pending win :)
