hello,
I have two Servers (Master/Slave) with Replication running.
I have Snapshots every hour, because work is done direct on the server. These snapshots are transfered to slave server everything is working fine.
But I don't want to keep all those snapshots.
I'd like to keep those 1h-Snapshots for only 48h, then I want to keep one Snapshot every day for 7 days; one snapshot for every week (4 weeks) and one snapshot a month (for 4 month); So, some kind of grandfather-father-son backup (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backup_rotation_scheme#Grandfather-father-son_backup).
I tried to set up multiple snapshots: 1h for 48h, 1d for 7 days and so one but then things gone bad:
when snapshots are created at the same time (i.e. mypool/data@auto-00000000.0000-7d and mypool/data@auto-00000000.0000-4w) the wrong one is used for comparison with the slave and replication stops.
