Good day,

I'm using Freenas for all my work share.. (in dev presently). Everything work fine: permission/accessright, stability..

Now, I'm trying to get Backupexex 2015 to take all those shares in backup..
The username I selected is a domain admin, so rights is not an issue

But.. Backupexec fail mentionning the user/pass is not working.. any clue?

Thanks
Frank

I had a bear of a time with backup exec 2012. Fact of the matter is that the last time I checked, the most recent supported samba version is 3.4 or something ancient. I think they even pulled samba from their software compatibility list. I tried everything I could thing of to get that crap running. Here's a short list:
  • Installing RALUS in a FreeBSD jail
  • Installing RALUS in a Linux vm with shares mounted via NFS and CIFS
  • Standalone samba 3.6 server in a jail.
The only thing I figured would work was doing ZFS replication to server with zfs on linux and ralus installed, but I couldn't be sure restores would work right. ZFS wasn't a supported filesystem. Software was infuriatingly buggy and was forced on me. Eventually, I said 'screw this' and threw the person who got it under a metaphorical bus.
