Backblaze (online storage company) is giving away their old StoragePods in a few weeks time.

These things should be FreeNAS-able. :)

Don't think so. They seem to be Backblaze designed enclosures, with these ones being the 2nd and 3rd revision "storage pods".

Reading through some of the background info, they're up to revision 6 now. ;)

No, they're Backblaze's own creations. They actually publish all the specs, but you'll be surprised they're pretty much the same things many of us are building here, they just really go after max drive count.

For example: Storage Pod 3.0

Uses the Supermicro X9SCL-F motherboard and an i3-21xx CPU, just like my own current NAS.

And just like that I'm wrong! Backblaze specifically mentions Protocase in the doc I linked previous, and mentions that they own the 45 Drives wiki...
