Automatic backups

Is there a way to automatically backup my entire computer or a specific directory on my computer to my FreeNAS server on a regular (daily, weekly, monthly) basis?

How would I go about setting it up?

Sure--any client software that can back up to a CIFS, AFP, or NFS share. Or Crashplan. Or Urbackup. Or, no doubt, plenty of others. This isn't really a FreeNAS question--it will depend on your client OS and what software you want to use.

Install literally any number of applications that can talk to a network share of some kind.
