Hi all,
I have a very simple NAS unit, it's been running on FreeNAS .... then TrueNAS CORE solidly for years (since 2019 with this hardware!).
OS Version:TrueNAS-SCALE-22.12.3.2
Product: ASRock Rack c3758d4i-4l
Model:Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU C3758 @ 2.20GHz
Memory: 96 GiB
2 (OS - Mirrored) x 512Gb SSD.
4 (DATA - ZFS Pool) x 3Tb Seagate Drives
Here's some of the Hardware inventory:
I followed the guidance (for once!) and disabled the services (just WebDAV in my case), backed-up the config and took screen shots of many things.
On 21st September (6 days ago), The I ran a Core (TrueNAS-13.0-U5.3) to Scale migration via the UI, which appeared to go well, however the system is now in a reboot loop where it's usable for about 4 minutes then reboots.
I'm not sure if an ISO clean build will resolve the issue, I've not had chance to try... but would be interested to see if anyone thinks that will make a difference.
DMESG gave me this little nugget:
Then some more:
The BIOS is the most recent available: BIOS V1.60, so I can't go newer.
I could role back to latest release of CORE, but I really want to use the additional feature Scale is offering, including Docker containers.
One slightly worrying issue came up today in the early hours, in the IPMI BIOS logs: Unrecoverable hard-disk/ATAPI/IDE device failure
Is is possible I have an incompatible BIOS setting??? If someone can give any indication where I might be able to start looking, it would be very , very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Simon.
