Are there any plans to bring AFP to Truenas Scale?

I recently migrated from core to scale not realizing that AFP is not supported in scale.

I have a house full of macs and AFP is super painless to use in comparison to SMB.

I just wanted to know if AFP is gone for good.

Even apple discontinued afp, so i don't think it will be implemented.

AFP service was removed from TrueNAS in SCALE. This was an intentional deprecation of protocol in our product. SMB should work fine with MacOS. If there a reproducible problem with MacOS and SMB in SCALE, please file a ticket and we will get it fixed.

For example, I am attempting to update permissions and I get this error:

chown: changing ownership of 'username/Music/Robert Parker': Disk quota exceeded

Never mind, apparently a user quota was created on my behalf
