I have looked in the documentation about updates and 13 U6 appears as TBD. Is Core at full development yet or we should start planning a migration to Scale ?

U releases are bugfixes, so at some point it is a good sign that U5 or U6 are NOT coming.
Major developments come with point releases and new versions. 13.1 is in the plans; everything is fine here.

U6 is going through QE testing currently.
Any chance there will be an update of the NUT package to 2.8.x? I've been waiting for this literally for years - not TN's fault, the NUT project went on sort of a hiatus concerning publishing releases. But with 2.8 I would finally be able to monitor my Cyberpower UPS. My OPNsense can do it, already

Yes - I resorted to running a Master on my pfSense box (and now my test OPNsense box) and Slaving my two TrueNAS boxes when I just could not get TrueNAS/Nut to pick up my Cyberpower UPS.
As I have found this efffective I may not care so much personally about what iX does on this topic today, but I do feel the poster's pain every time I see a "UPS Help" message appear here.
I support Patrick's suggestion and the NAS-122717 June '23 post "NUT 2.8 on TrueNAS Core?" at https://ixsystems.atlassian.net/browse/NAS-122717 (which doesn't appear to have attracted much developer attention ...). Nor was the upvote option on it opened by the admin.

Can't speak for 13.0-U6 right now, 13.0-U6 is still on 2.7.4_20 but 13.1 will include the upgrade to 2.8.0_23

Code:
root@core-master[~]# pkg info nut
nut-2.8.0_23

Back in July I confirmed the release of 13.0-U6 in November 2023 by traveling forward in my time machine. I paid special attention not to disturb our universe's timeline. I also avoided direct contact with my future self.

@Patrick M. Hausen, I forgot to check which version of NUT it uses. Sorry, but I'm not in the mood to time-travel again. It makes me nauseous. o_O

@winnielinnie did you get the memo that the workshop "advanced time travel" was moved to last Wednesday?

"Last" as in... wait. Wednesday. But according to... hold on... wait... if that was before... or actually during the part that happened after... wait...

WHERE AM I AGAIN? WHEN AM I?

Speaking of NUT, it would appear that a base of FreeBSD 13.2 will de facto have version 2.8.1. (And hence, TrueNAS Core 13.0-U6? Or will that still be based on FreeBSD 13.1?)

Version 2.8.0 (the iteration after the long-tooth 2.7.4, which we're using right now) was released in April 2022, which coincides around the same time of FreeBSD 13.1-RELEASE and TrueNAS Core 13.0-RELEASE. So it was probably a sheer unfortunate luck of "just missed the bus".

Other than ZFS, I don't think there's much of the underlying base system that iX version freezes or backports.
