I updated to FreeNAS yesterday and everything went perfectly. :) Now the System / Update is reporting 'No update available.' and that I am on Train FreeNAS-11.2-STABLE - Installed OS which is great, but from Dashboard it's reporting FreeNAS-11.2-RC2 (Build Date: Nov 15,2018 20:21) which is out of date.

In one of the FreeNAS update videos I've watched the system is reporting the more current version of FreeNAS.

Try flushing the browser cache... or failing that install 8.3:)

No luck with flushing my cache. In looking at System / Boot Enviro it say 11.2-RC - Active Now/Reboot, created 12/6/2018, 2.2G.

I'm getting the impression the update was not successful. Typing uname -a from the shell reports 11.2-STABLE.

I have an unusual potential fix.

I started with a USB drive mounted on an internal header, had errors, so I replaced it with external thumb drives. Long story short, that original drive is still good enough to allow the system to boot from it.

So for several months, I've been running RC2 booting off a drive that had 11.1-U4/5/6 GRUB config files. I don't remember what order I did things, that I ended up with RC2 in that GRUB config on that "bad" drive, but RC2 was working.

Once I realized this, I went in to the BIOS and told it to boot from my new externally installed USB drives and I'm running RELEASE.

Very unlikely you did the same thing, but I would start by looking in to GRUB. Can't really help you with that, but it's a place to start. 11.2 should have moved you over to the FreeBSD-Bootloader, so start by seeing what your system is using.

EDIT:

Realized you're not 'beadm list' doesn't even show '11.2-RELEASE', so my fix doesn't seem to apply.

My boot devices are two mirrored Sandisk Cruzers plugged into the USB slots on the top of my case.

So go ahead and update - that's what you want if you are trying to get on to 11.2-Release.

I selected fetch and install updates again and this time it appears to have taken.
