Adding multiple 'search' entries to resolv.conf

Hello,
I'm trying to add 3 search entries to /etc/resolv.conf , but it keeps resetting into one entry after reboot. It resets to the domain name I entered in the network configuration.

Example:
My FreeNAS server: storage-server.x.site.com
I'm trying to add this to resolv.conf: search x.site.com y.site.com z.site.com
It keeps resetting to: search x.site.com

Is there a way to do this?

Does it work once you edit the file manually? You will need to edit the base file ( I believe - unless it's generated on startup) and it should stick (do it at your own risk)..

where is the "base" file you mentioned?
