Hi,
I created a CIFS share in FreeNAS with the default permissions, and I created a group too. I want to limit access to this folder to only have access the group I created before.
There are a special option?
Can anybody help me please?

Thanks!!

Did you fine-tune the permissions on the Windows client for the share?

Hi dlavigne,
I changed the permissions of the dataset, and I put in the "owner group" option the group I created yesterday. But I would like to know if there are a special option to limit the access for the directory only for the members of the group. For example on samba there are an option "valid users" where we can put a group with this sintaxis: @group
Thanks!

AFAIK you can still use valid users = @groupname as an Auxiliary Parameter for the share. Does that work for you?

"valid users" still works, but I believe it will not override ACLs that are set on the share. It can make permissions on the share more restricted, but not less restricted. It's best to just configure ACLs using a windows client.
