I am not able to save PDF files using 'SAVE AS' option of Acrobat Reader DC when trying to save to sub folder created on zvol space. When attempting to save, Reader DC reports back that the file is read only, or another user may have the file open.

Other applications can save to the folders on the space created as zvol format, including Acrobat v11.

the volume is mounted onto a Win 2008 r2 server at a mount point.

Is the above caused by some setting within FreeNAS (v9.3)? It seems only to be affecting Acrobat Reader DC actions so far.

Is protected mode on in Acrobat's Edit - Preferences - Security (Enhanced)?

Yes, protected mode was on.
turning off solved the problem thanks.

I am not sure I understand why the protected mode setting was only affecting files saved to the folders on FreeNAS server. I have had no isues with saving to folders under control of Windows OS system.

Anyway, thanks. I can get back to doings things quicker now.
