Hello people,

Currently i'm working on my Freenas setup.
My plan is that me and my friends can acces a map on the nas from all over the world using there laptop, but my plan isnt working wel because i cant get Freenas running outside of my network:(
I've tried the following things:

1. Forwarderd port 22(SSH)
2. Forwarderd port 21(FTP)
and mutch more stuff.

How do i get this thing working all over the internet?

(Sorry for misspelling some things my english is not the best.)

Kind regards,
Robin Koch

FTP (Port 21): Evil port, do not use. FTP predates so many security technologies that using it is just begging to be hacked. To give you an idea, everything from your login credentials to all your file transfers are transferred in the clear.
SFTP (tunneled over SSH) is fine, though I would recommend you to switch it to a port higher than 1024 so your server doesn't get bombed by script kiddies.
To get the stuff working over the internet (if you are behind a router, which is the case for 90% of users these days), you'll need to configure your router to forward the port you are using.
