access denied error when copying in sub directories.

I had a raid 5 configured on above mentioned hardware. It was degraded due to some drive failure. I replaced drives and configured raid 5+0, configured volumes, users and share after watching tutorials.
It was working fine initially but now on copying in sub directories it gives error. While copying fine on root directories. On copying from any Mac OS it ask for user and password. I've tried every user and password but it gives error. On copying from windows it just gives an "access denied" error. Can anyone help me with it? thank you in advance.

Ouch, that is an old release on unrecommended hardware :-(

Well, the hardware isn't too bad, though the CPU is going to be fairly slow. RAM fairly low, too.

Thing is, you're not going very far with 8.3. I mean, you could, but why would you?
