Today i found my freeness 9.10 web gui was not responding, but the own cloud jail was working, i tried to shut it down properly but i had no luck, so i killed it.
After the reboot i have done the last updates, and all seems to be good.
Now i tried to login and only a box appears saying
"{"events": [], "message": "Error: database is locked", "error": true}"
I tried another shutdown with the power button but after a while it says
"watchdog timeout expired. shutdown terminated" and does not reboot.
Now i am going to kill it another time...

What can have gone wrong?

Did it come back to the GUI and let you login? If so, what is the build version from System -> Information? Also, post the contents of /var/log/messages.

I am having the same problem. I am running FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE-201604181743 (74ef270).

{"message": "Error: database is locked", "error": true, "events": []}

After I get this message, I can click around and it loads, but it is really slow. My plugins like Plex, btsync seem to be working just fine. When I ssh into the box, it is also really slow.

My /var/log/messages

When I click on the alert light (top right, not flashing or anything) i get this..

CPU usage is not high.

My storage volumes all say HEALTHY.
