We rebooted out NAS and now one of the volumes gets a 0X80070570 the File or Directory is corrupt and unreadable error when trying to write to the disk. You can read files, just not write to them. Should I run a chkdsk on the drive or will that cause further damage?

Post the output of zpool status within code tags. A screenshot of the error you are seeing would also be helpful.

Honestly, this may be something that is worth calling him about before getting too deep into trying to fix the problem. As a storage admin, I'd prefer to receive the phone call than to return to a pile of ashes. :D

I'm pretty sure it's a corollary to Murphy's Law. Everything that can go wrong will go wrong, and it is most likely to happen while you're on vacation.
