Hi guys,

I have finally taken the advice from many on the forums to go with a server for ECC and performance etc etc.

Did my upgrade today consisting of:

Supermicro X10SLM-F
Intel Xeon E3-1220 V3
Kingston 32GB ECC 1600MHz

Now when I first booted up everything I was welcomed with it freezing on this (reference image). I restarted in a couple of times and then it booted up fine. After a reboot later in the day it did it again for 2 times before it actually booted fine. I will try a clean install I think tomorrow but am wondering if this has been seen before?

Cheers

This was reported 10+ times on the forum. Did you try to search for "error 19"? For example: Mounting Failed with Error 19
The xhci (USB3) driver in FreeNAS 9.1.1 is not compatible with Haswell (Lynx point) chipsets. You need to disable xHCI/USB3 in the BIOS.

Hi.

Sorry I couldn't find anything because I wasn't sure what to search for.

Sorry a made a double post.

So does this mean I can't use USB 3 until FreeNAS supports haswel chips? If so any idea when.

thanks.

On most boards the ports will revert to EHCI (USB2) and stay usable, but only at USB 2 speeds. FreeNAS support for USB3 is currently broken on Lynx Point (and some other) chipsets. I don't think this will be fixed in 9.2.0 as it seems there's no solution in FreeBSD either yet (https://bugs.freenas.org/issues/3273#note-17)
