Can’t open some replicated file types

Got a weird problem. I have two TN servers: I’ll call them A & B. A has a replication task that backs up to B. I was checking some of the files in B and noticed that some of the files such as .doc, .xls cannot be opened. When I click on a file, Word or Excel opens up but I get an error stating that the file cannot be opened. On A, I have no issues opening files of the same types. Other files such as .pdf or .txt open up just fine on both A & B.

What could be the issue where I can open some files but not all from B? I looked at ACLs and made sure permissions are fine. Also tried researching and looking at TN manual but couldn’t find anything regarding this.

Chances are that the replica is marked read-only (at the dataset level) and those file types are trying to lay down a temp file in order to open the file with r/w access.

You must not edit the contents of the replica if you intend to continue with incremental replication.

Can you open a file from B if you copy it to your workstation?

Tried what you said and it works, I can open the files when I copy them to my desktop. Thanks for the reply.

Just curious, how come I can open other files from B that are pdf, or txt?

That's the corollary of what I said, those files don't try to write temp files in order to open, so don't encounter the read-only point.
