Hi !
Let me start by saying I know my system is not ideal , it is a temp system until i get my new NAS in a few month.
NAS:
topton n1 NAS
AMD Athlon Silver 3050e
16GB of RAM but only 13.6GB available for NAS.
I started with my 8TB drive only and had no issues at all.
After adding my 18TB drive to the pool, I started getting write error:
de364a5e-87b8-4b39-8d76-cecc219c7bb8 DEGRADED 0 23 0 too many errors
sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] tag#5 FAILED Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_OK cmd_age=26s
[89884.312206] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] tag#5 Sense Key : Illegal Request [current]
[89884.312219] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] tag#5 Add. Sense: Unaligned write command
[89884.312232] sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] tag#5 CDB: Write(16) 8a 00 00 00 00 00 4a 40 ff 30 00 00 00 08 00 00
[89884.312246] blk_update_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 1245773616 op 0x1:(WRITE) flags 0x700 phys_seg 1 prio class 0
Disk passed short SMART and busy running long .
My question is, can this be a RAM issue?
I can make a plan to get more RAM but it wont be easy (I think my server have 2x32gb, and not sure about my work laptop but not ideal....heheh)
I prefer not to buy as my new NAS is arriving soon, however if we can confirm it's a RAM issue i'll just buy some I suppose , RAM isn't too pricey these days.
Hard drive seems to be fine so far...
