This is the most frustrating piece of software with so many bugs that I do not know where to start from.

I have 4 new 8TB drives with 1 512MB SSD in a Supermicro board with 32GB ECC RAM.
I installed it and now I am trying to install Plex Media Server.
This is next to impossible!!!
I installed it and not plex user (972) was created so I manually created one.
Created a mount point for Plex and Shared folder with ACL access to ALL.
Needles to say that it could not find a single movie.
Now I tried over and over and over and delete the pool and recreated everything for the last two days.
I never spent so much time on a single piece of software in my entire life.
I started programming computers when I was 16 with a PET Commodore.
I am designed and programmed large scale software programs way more complicated than a NAS.
I am in this business for 42 years not and went from Basic to Pascal to C to C++ and to C#.
I used almost every OS there is and what I am trying to say that TrueNAS is not in any way shape or form usable.
Needles to say I have a 1GB Fiber Internet connection and it took 6 hours to install Plex from github sue to endless errors.
Thank you and I will move to another open source that actually works.

Ah, well, you're not supposed to be able to install Plex directly on TrueNAS, which is probably why you had problems with the user not existing, etc.

You're supposed to use the Plex plugin as described by the guys at Plex.

I haven't done this myself lately, but it is apparently both fairly easy and incredibly popular.

If you were having trouble, you could have asked for help--lots of us are running Plex on Free/TrueNAS, and it's trivially easy to set up (I even wrote a script to further simplify it). Apparently it wasn't worth your time to do that. But it somehow was worth your time to make an account just so you could post you weren't going to use it?

I used almost every OS there is and what I am trying to say that TrueNAS is not in any way shape or form usable.
I guess the thousands of us who have managed to make it work must just be geniuses, then.

And I thought that using Jails and Plex plugin from TrueNAS web UI is the way to do it
I did it the correct way, trust me.
Worst software ever,

Yes you are a genius...

Piece of junk software needs help.
Easy to use software is easy.
I don't need to dig into forums and help files for a simple install.
What a piece of junk software this is according to your comment "I even wrote a script to further simplify it".
Simple to use software does not require users to write scripts.

But you're a genius and I just a simple guy.

I haven't a clue next to your "expertise" ..... and I figured it out. ... read the instructions instead of "winging it"

You're a self-proclaimed IT professional; I'm a lawyer. But I was able to get it working without difficulty, as have hundreds (if not thousands) of others.
I don't need to dig into forums and help files for a simple install.
If this is your belief, then you're 100% correct that TrueNAS is not for you. Please use something else that works exactly as you think it should without your ever needing to consult the documentation or ask for help.

I just used an autoinstall script from @danb35 to install plex in a few minutes (20 minutes from start to finish)
It works almost perfectly, and the reasons it doesn't are due (for example) to me using a different network card than the main one for my jails and having different datasets for different media types. All self-inflicted issues
