Hello, I have a problem booting up TrueNAS core, I hope this is the right place to ask for help. I have tried installing it to many USBs, from Kingston, SanDisk to "Generic Flash Drive". All from 8-16GB.

Installation is successful and I get to boot TrueNAS screen with no problems. After that I always get:
"CAM status: CCB request completed with an error.... Solaris: WARNING: Poll 'boot-pool" has encountered an uncorrectable I/O failure and has been suspended".
Now, I refuse to believe that every single USB that I have is failing. They work fine elsewhere, but to be honest I did not test them all, I am still doing that as it takes a lot of time. Some are pretty much new, some a few months old and one is really old. They were working perfectly previously and still do, if I use them for anything else. I disconnected all local disks and no difference.

If I install TrueNAS on SSD it works fine, so I presume that hardware is supported (except USB?).
Does anyone have any idea why would I get such and error and how to fix it? Or, if I asked in wrong place, can someone please tell me where I should be asking such question.

Thanks in advance, Stane

Just to be sure, I booted MX Linux live system and ran "inxi -Frxz", which is supposed to give system info. The flash drive used for MX boot was not used for TrueNAS install location.
What is not mentioned bellow: 2x 500GB HDD, 240GB SSD, because I unplugged them to see if it helps. They were there on most tries of installs.

My guess would be a controller problem... what chipset does your board use for USB?

I am getting the same errors after upgrading from TrueNas core RC1 to RELEASE. I am using also a USB memory to host Truenas but it works fine with RC1.

When I restart the server it seems boot correctly but in RC1 version (at least the system didn't break) I have tried two times with the same result.

Anyone know what happens? I can provide more info if needed I have a video recording of all booting

The first screenshot is where the errors start displaying and second one is where it get stuck.

Hello, thank you for all the answers and interest in the problem. I am not sure what chipset the motherboard uses (ASRock model: N68C-GS4 FX). I tried searching for it but I didn't find anything else than "Nvidia chipset" for GPU, I might be a bit blind. I see that TrueNAS has a new release, I will try installing the new version later today. Hopefully there will be some changes, ill post if anything does change.

As I mentioned before I didn't get these errors anymore on booting but noticed one of the VM machines is broken which are in an SSD (separate from where Truenas is installed). It is a Windows Server machine that won't boot. manage to boot from Windows DVD installation and mount the volume where Windows is installed but for my surprise there are missing files on the system e.e. content of Users folder and Windows/System32.

I can run an old snapshot of this system though.

I am wondering if this is related to the I/O failures I saw before when booting Truenas.
