where do i set the LAN Ports to 1Gig?

You don't; they should auto-negotiate.

I guess everyone's experience varies, but I agree with @danb35 on this. My experience in 20+ years working for a network equipment VAR is that forcing speed and duplex caused WAY more problems than it ever solved.
