Hi all,

so my FreeNAS system is now running for the first 24 hours. I have so far imported things and am happy with Apple and Samba fileshares.

So I begun adding some new disks to experiment. Sadly the new disk did not appear in the GUI > Storage section. Being a classic I went to SSH into the box and did zpool and zfs commands there. All fine!

How can I now resync the webui with the as-is status?

I remember in Nas4Free I had a rescan or sync function to import changes into the UI. I could even find screenshots of old FreeNAS gui showing the same functionality. But in this plus/minus thing there seems nothing likely exist...

zpool export poolname, then import through the GUI. And don't make changes at the CLI.

Thanks Dan that worked but is awkward still. I guess I'll wait for 11.1 and the new GUI to ask for an improvement. In my eyes GUI and CLI can work hand in hand together.

In theory perhaps they could, but in practice they don't. Not yet, anyway.
