Change video card

I would like to know that in replacing my video card. Do I have to reload FreeNAS 9.10 or will FreeNAS detect the new card?

Step 1 is to make sure that exact card is compatible. Assuming it is, the best practice is to get rid of old drivers first, but you should be able to throw it in there and get an expected result. Worst case scenario, you put the old one back in.

That really doesn't apply here, since video is handled in VGA-compatible mode.

What "old drivers" would you be talking about? And how would a user "get rid of" them?

Just ignore me, I'm wrong :(, These guys know what's up.

If the motherboard has built-in video, use that instead. Some motherboards will boot without video, although that means you don't get the console unless you have IPMI, but a card can be installed when needed. The point of either option is to avoid the extra heat and power supply load from an added video card.
