Replacing my HDD

You have two unrelated issues. Your driver/firmware mismatch is the result of a recent upgrade
from an older version of FreeNAS. Your other warning is possibly a hard disk failure.

To prevent you from having to be asked later, would you please post your system hardware
specs and the current version of FreeNAS running on your system.

Its telling you that there are bad sectors, not that the drive is offline.

should i change the hdd ?

With more than 65,000 bad sectors, da1 is definitely in bad shape and should be replaced. Take care to follow the drive replacement directions in the user guide.

Since you're running RAIDZ1, you should seriously consider backing up any data you care about now, while we help you figure out exactly what's going on.

I never updated the LSI controller, the HDD in question is about 3 year old the rest were new HDD, i already purchase a replacement of the HDD in queston. Following the guide i just put the HDD offline and hit replace ? then take it out and replace it with the new one.

I was going to follow this to update the SLI

1. Downloaded the P20 firmware from the Supermicro FTP site - ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/driver/SAS/LSI/2308/Firmware/IT/
2. Unzipped and copied the files from the UEFI folder onto a USB stick
3. Launched the iKVM Viewer from the IPMI console
4. Shut down Freenas from the WUI
5. Hit F11 and booted into the UEFI Shell
6. Switched to the USB stick with "fa0:" command
7. Ran the firmware update with "SMC2308T.NSH" command
8. Entered the last 9 digits of the SAS address (I'd saved this when I originally flashed it to P16)
9. Rebooted into Freenas

Ok i replace the hard drive and now its rebuilding, should i update the LSI ?

Wait until your pool is back to a healthy state before proceeding with anything else.
Once that's done, shut down your machine and disconnect all your disks data cables
and power too if you like. THEN flash new firmware. Please note: the SAS address
step will not be needed AFAIK.
The disconnection of your pool is thought by many to be overly cautious, but I'm
of the opinion that it's an easy thing to do, so why not! It simply takes out ANY
chance of damage to your data during the flash process.

It's always good practice to properly reinsert the correct SAS address.

I normally just run a "sas2flsh -list" (since I run it from FreeDos), grab the SAS Address, print it on a label and attach it to the card. This way I have a copy for reference just in case.

Why? The SAS address is already printed on a label attached to the card.

On a lot of cards, it isn't. But even if it is, needing to stop operations to pull the card and retrieve it is a real PITA.

That's because it was already programmed. ;)

Simple upgrades generally don't wipe the SAS address, because why should they?

It's an issue when you crossflash, since the whole card was wiped.

I added stept 2 to the proccess

I try sas2flash -c 0 -f UEFI/2308IT204.ROM but it was giving me a syntax error so i try it with the steps above and it worked
