I have a pool of 5x WD Red's on an M1015 card (they actually might be split between two M1015s in my case (im not sure)..

I keep getting writer errors in zpool status, and had sector errors in the GUI.
I replaced the disk, its in the process of resilvering and been going for about 24 hours and I still see write errors in zpool status. I don't know if those are from the prior disk or if they're new. I just did a zpool clear VAULT so we'll see what happens in the next few days if i get more write errors.

the GUI errors are probably residual, but I need to be able to troubleshoot further if it comes down to it.

However when i run crystaldiskinfo on the old disk, it says its still in "good" condition, which is odd to me.

What are some other potential causes to these errors, could it be a failing sas card or failing sas backplane?

Well, you must've replaced the wrong drive. That one has 0 unreadable sectors.

nope I replaced da5, first thing I did when building this box was label the front of the trays with the serial, make model and size of each hdd along with their phys attachment in freenas.

I'm not sure what's up I have a sneaking suspicion either the controller, cable, backplane is flaking out.
