Sorry, I won't help without a MUCH longer explanation of what you are doing. Rolling back TXGs isn't for people to do "because they *think* that's the answer".

If you destroyed the dataset, you can't rollback that TXG. Likewise if you're server has been online and in use for more than an hour or so, your chances of rolling back are pretty close to zero.

I am trying to get back the dataset I accidently deleted. My server has been online for more than an hour. Another proposal I have to attempt to get my data back. I have another flash drive with freenas on it that was my old install from a few days ago. I could have sworn I made a snapshot of a jail I had the data in. When I put that flash drive back I see no snapshots. Is there a way those snapshots are there and I just have to run a command to see them?

AFAIK when you delete a dataset there is no recovery. I've never tried to do a rollback after deleting a dataset though, so I have no clue if it is even possible.

Any idea why my snapshot's wouldn't be available on my old flash drive? Do they disappear after updating freenas?

What do you mean? Snapshots are stored on the dataset itself. Your question seems confusing and doesn't make sense to me.

Literally, a snapshot is nothing more than a bookmark of the transaction number at the moment the snapshot is made. If you want to copy a snapshot you'd have to copy all of the data that is "bookmarked" by that snapshot.

Ok. Makes sense. Well, looks like I'm just screwed then. Lesson learned. Now to get to work rebuilding my library.
