I have a drive I use for my home security cam vid storage (not super critical back, just would be nice to have a mirror if a drive fails or something). I'd like to make that one zfs drive into a mirror. I have an extra drive on my HBA of the same model/size that shows up in the gui, but I can't add it to the pool "cams". See the pics below: on "Unassigned Disks" when I click Add To Pool >> Existing Pool >> Add Disks and select the "cams" pool it comes up with the Pool Manager but it doesn't have another drive existing, just the new one I'm trying to add... but with the "cams" pool listed and that existing pool is working. What's going on here? See the pics for better understanding. How do I fix this and add my mirror drive to "cams"?

You are doing this wrong

You want to extend, not add a new vdev

Storage / Manage Devices (on appropriate pool)/ Click device/ Extend and then use the dropdown

Thanks. This makes sense. I searched "truenas" "scale" "single drive to mirror" and many variations but no one showed me this simple way in the GUI - hence this post. Resilvering now.

In retrospect, what I tried seems logical and Scale seemed to guide me that direction. The solution stated above is not intuitive. Again, thanks for your direction and experience. Why is there even the option to "Add to Pool" from the Storage overview when that is the wrong way to do what I wanted? I can see creating a new pool, as I've done that many times... What the heck?

Because you can add new vdevs to a pool

But the choice of the word "extend" is quite odd to me, maybe a little help text with the usual question mark might help a little to make it more clear.

Yes, just a little tweak to the UI would make things more clear, reducing posts like this.
