X9DRi-F 12 drive box. Freenas FreeNAS-11.2-U8: will updates help with fan control?

I have a static fan control scrip running on my home supermicro rig. I calibrated fan speed to not overheat my drives at high utilization. It is just quiet enough for my wife not to complain. I've been afraid to play with the temperature responsive fan scripts due to complexity.

Q: do the newer versions of freenas/truenas address fan control better than my current system? Is there a safe script I could use that would quiet things down during low disk utilization?

TrueNAS has no native access to IPMI fan control

There are decent scripts available, but they would need to be modified

Thank you for your reply. Are there any significant improvements I would see if I upgraded to newest *NAS builds?
