As y other thread says... i found a bug in IPMI FW 1.23 on my X10SL7. Temp for PCH and more importantly CPU does not show.

Looking through this:
http://www.supermicro.com/support/bios/firmware0.aspx

All X10 IPMI FW's has the same file name. One board though the X10SLE-DF... has revision 1.26.

Can this be used on the X10SL7?

CPU temp doesn't show in degrees or it has a "low/medium/high" rating? Because my motherboard(X9SCM-F) only provides CPU temperature in low/medium/high type ratings, and Supermicro said that is all you will get from IPMI now... by design.

Can you go down in version?

running version 01.10 here which I updated when I first got the board early November.

Edit: I can provide you with SMB firmware 1.07 and 1.10 if interested. Just checked and you *can* go down in versions

Temperatures (CPU and PCH) shows just fine with 1.10.

So i mailed supermicro and was told to reset using the IPMICFG. Then cut power.

This did not work. Still no temp on CPU and PCH.

If jyavebard sends me the 1.10 i will trie to downgrade.

I've put them there:
http://www.avenard.org/files/X10SL7-F/

1.07 is from supermicro web site (downloaded at the time I got my X10SL7-F board)
1.10 is extracted from my X10SL7-F.

If you want to downgrade, you have to use version 2.01 of their DOS/Windows tool. 2.02 doesn't let you downgrade.

Never managed to get the linux version going.

FWIW, I just upgraded to X10SL7-F; and I do not have the issues mentioned earlier. I can access all the temperatures just fine.

Don't see anything wrong with it...

Edit: Damn, they've changed their password policy; and the last password I've been using for all my BMC stuff isn't accepted anymore. It doesn't want special characters in the password. dumb...

It was working before, yes. Not sure it stopped immediately after flashing to 1.23 i just noticed.

Have you upgraded bios to 1.1a too?

I also notice, that after the upgrade it is cinda weird when i power on.
It seems to go off again... Fans dying, then after a second it goes alive again and then power led lights up.

Haven't upgraded the bios no. Was very disappointed to see that upgrading the BMC firmware simply turned off the server. Hard off.

Fixed!! :)

Supermicro support suggested something was up with the "ME firmware". So i had to set two jumpers, then reflash BIOS.

That worked! :)

I have no idea :p but you can see the .bat script adressing it a few times when flashing...

Interesting, I'm having the same issue and when I originally flashed the IPMI firmware and BIOS I noticed the instructions specified to disconnect AC power and reset CMOS after the update. Problem was there is no jumper on my motherboard where you are supposed to jump to reset CMOS. There is a point for a jumper to be soldered to the board, but nothing there. Which two jumpers did you set?

Sorry for late reply.

According to SP support:
You can try reflashing the board with the JPME1 and 2 jumpers set to 2-3 (see below). After flashing set the jumpers back.

Finally got around to trying the flash with these jumpers set and it worked. I have CPU temps again! Unfortunately my CPU fan speed is still cycling up and down. Didn't do that before the BIOS update and I hoped it was related to the temp not being read.
