Opps found another one by our old friend UnaClocker:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceKPPqqemd4

He's back and doing an upgrade... If anything watch 4:00 - 5:45 or at 12:50 ;)
He's all over reddit bragging about his FreeNAS skills.

Dear god. I made it 2 minutes in until he said you have to do raidz with a specific number of disks. He really thinks you can only do 3 disks in raidz1....and he has people that listen to his suggestions? And he said that the chipset doesn't support PCI any more? Wtf is his logic...

Ahh, but you have to see his made skillz in gui at the 12:50 mark. o_O
Is that where he agonizes over what to name his pool, already having used raidA, raidB, and raidC, and then after about a minute, he comes up with raidD?

That and how he just can't get it through his head to drag the drives to one row in order to get a RaidZ option.

He told you he was tired, but was compelled to do this video anyway. ;-)

Let's be fair here.

That god damn button that you have to drag horizontally or vertically in the god damn volume manager is among the stupidest things I have ever seen in my life, and a man cannot be faulted for having no idea what its logical functioning is. I surely had no idea how that button worked for, what, at least my first 3 months of FreeNAS. There's no tooltip on the subject, nothing in the docs, and it defies logic. And I have a Ph.D. in math, which means, I should have this whole "logic" thing wrapped up.

So, yeah, I hesitate to fault home boy for not being able to drag the stupid button around to the right spot.

THAT BEING SAID, I certainly wouldn't be making any quasi-expert youtube videos of me obviously not being able to handle the fundamental aspects of the GUI.

K, I'll grant you that. I also agree that before anyone decides to make any video on how to do something they should at least have done a "walk-through" themselves first. But that is the internet for you, at least is it good for a late night laugh.

I find it very disenfranchising that your signature does not include any classic DrKK work. Such as this....or something else.

I'll enfranchise you with my signature. I was disappointed though that I had some problems with getting it to work with a blinking red gif saying "Classic DrKK Work", and so I settled on Comic Sans font.

Aside from the extraneous apostrophe (which is only on IRC, sir), I heartily approve of the good taste you are now showing in your signature block. You are a man who knows what he wants, and you choose the best.

You guys are really missing the point on this one. His goal was to make a pool with a pair of mirrored vDev's and he was confounded that he ended up with MORE storage than he expected since he ended up with a single raidZ1 instead. But I am honestly surprised he didn't end up just making one big stripe.

After watching the couple little spots and then that I had to turn it off. I don't even know what we could say to this guy to tell him he did it wrong. I guess we can always reference this thread when he shows up on the forums.
