The username is ADMIN and the password is ADMIN, by default. That should get you in, unless this board had previously been used.

normally i bought a new not a second hand.
Default password may be have changed to something with almost 8 digits because finally i 've done a usb dos boot with ipmicfg and change password.
First i tried to set ADMIN ADMIN but it was refused as too short and needs lower, caps, numbers and almost 8 digits.
I change for something good and that time ipmi connection was successful.:)

I'm completely new on supermicro board , I found IPMI IP, but when i'm on credentials windows, tryed ADMIN as login and password with no luck
connection is refused wrong credentials, as it is only this i found as default login , so what can I do to be logged in ?

Hello,

I arrived after the war but the password policy at SuperMicro changed at the end of last year. Now it's a random password that's written on a sticker.

More info here.

Thanks @mpeck for finding that, that's indeed good to know!

@profwalken I am curious, did you get your fan issue solved? It's not something basic like "needed to redo my thermal paste", is it?

To FreeNAS? See:

If you want that for your IPMI, I don't know of a way to do that.

Yes i've just changed in settings from IPMI, configuration, then Fan Mode

the one selected is the only one keeping fan regular speed and not full speed like a turbine.
The first one choice produce fan speed to increase and decrease speed all the time, unbearable noise.

Too bad it is not natively ready in freenas. The subject of certificates is very often, if not always, painful, especially when you do not master the subject like me:oops:

Which suggests it's getting too hot. Either an issue with thermal paste, or not enough airflow through the case. You can of course pin it at a higher speed, as you've done.

I don't think it was too hot , even during boot time this was already playing with my nerve. case was open at this time and inside 3 sys fans and cpu fan.
The setting I choose it 's not full speed at all , this is quiet and regular :)
Actual server health running case closed in 19" bay

Well, it is, but only with very limited DNS providers. But if the subject is painful, I doubt the built-in support will be any less so than using my script.

Thanks for your link, i've seen it before , but this is unsuable for my poor linux level. If your explainations were for beginners surely with more detailled steps to follow, it could be possible to do, actually for me this is impossible.

Also, most of documents are in English so it's not always simple to understand when it s not your native language, do you know why it's impossible to have direct translation from google on this part of the site?

Then perhaps it can be an incentive to improve your skills. No, that isn't for beginners; it assumes a familiarity with the relevant concepts. But it certainly isn't rocket surgery, and it's not like there's a shortage of tutorial material about the FreeBSD command line, scripting, certificates, Let's Encrypt, DNS, etc. Once again, if you don't understand any of that stuff, I doubt the built-in support for Let's Encrypt will be any more useful to you than my script is.
