Where do I find the recipes for automatic storage configuration?

In Freenas you have the option to let freenas decide or suggest what your best storage configuration is.
Where do I find the recipe (or algorithm) that is used by freenas to determine that suggestion?

Not being familiar with the source code of freenas, I have no idea where to look for. (I wouldn't have asked otherwise)
