Web interface settings specifically for storage pools

2 weeks in, much experimentation and diving in and out of the admin. Interesting so far and I will be using FreeNAS but a couple of frustrations creeping in with the interface.

Main one is, is there any way with the new web interface to set it so that when I click on storage and then pools I actually get a list of all pools defined?
I'm wasting my time re-expanding the list every time I go in.
I appreciate that once things have settled a bit I'll not need to go in there so often but it's really tedious when experimenting with storage, permissions etc. to not have the list just there. I have a couple of pools nested 3 and one 4 deep that's four clicks more each and every time.

Any pointers as to how to do this gratefully received.

This is the default in 11.3--when you go to Storage -> Pools, all the pools are shown, as are all the top-level datasets. If, rather than pools, you're referring to all the nested datasets, I don't believe there's a way to have those all expanded by default.

Sorry, terminology. Yes it's the nested datasets that I'm grumbling about. Thanks for the info.
Shame, but it is what it is. Being very old I much prefer dedicated clients to web interfaces for this sort of admin for this type of reason but I understand why developers might choose code on the server. - I'll get over it in another 60 years or so...

Maybe, the command line interface zfs(8) would be more suitable for your needs.

The FreeNAS webui is mandatory only to modify files in /etc, otherwise the modifications disappear on the next reboot.

The list option is certainly quicker but the intent was to get to the menu items on the datasets.

However, being old in the tooth a command line isn't frightening, so I might invest the time to
a) learn what the scope of the gui /etc relationship is and
b) learn the underlying command sets.

Thanks.
