I have searched the forum and have found multiple posting about this subject but they have dealt with initial configuration setup that indicate the disk are not being found during installation or boot up. My situation is a bit different. I have inherited a FreeNAS environment with no previous knowledge and no documentation from the person I replaced.
Our environment is online and functioning with no issues. We have one drive showing failed in the View Multipaths selection. However, the View Disks option does not show any disks listed. Also, the individual that set the system up did not document serial numbers for the hard drives or for that matter any documentation at all regarding the system. I know I can power down the unit and get the serial numbers which I have scheduled. However, if the disk do not show in the View Disk section I do not have a way that I have been able to find to determine which disk is the defective one.
Build: FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201605170422
If you need additional information related to our system please, let me know.
I apologize if this needed to be posted in a different forum as I am a newbie with FreeNAS.
Thank you
