I set up a VM (Ubuntu 16.04) in FreeNAS 11.1 U1, using this youtube tutorial. Everything was easy and works fine...except the NIC doesn't connect to the network. I set up the VM via the GUI. Googling tells me there is not special setting for bridging the connection if I set up the NIC device using the GUI, which would seem to be the missing step. What do I do? I know the NIC isn't (consistently?) connecting since I can't ping in or out from the VM, and Firefox won't connect to the outside world (but the router did at least initially assign an IP to the VM). Thanks! (And sorry for failing to find the problem by googling, I did try.)

Below some further hopefully useful information:

I'm having a very similar issue. Set up tonight and cannot get an outside connection. I can ping everything in the house though. Tried setting manual settings in the connection etc, etc.

Looks like just under a week on this post. Any advice?
