First of all, want to thank you for all the feedback from everyone on here. The amount of information and help has been overwhelming. I am about to order my NIC and SATA HBD controllers, just want to ensure this is something that TrueNAS supported
Intel X710DA2 and LSI 9300 - 16i
Was on the fence a little bit with the X710 but given I don't have to purchase a dedicated 10GB switch as my current Dell PowerConnect 6248 has 4 SFP port I can leverage (in theory), figure I give it a try
I have no plan to use a JBOD or backplane but did get a case with an optional to go 16 disk if need to (starting with 8) Note, the 16 is for spinning disk, L2ARC or SLOG options will be handle with M.2 or onboard SATA if needed. I am not sure if I even need the 9300 versus older generation 9207, just want to ensure I don't run into bottle neck on the HBD controller or the PCIe bus, which I should now with the 9300 with only 16 HDD
