Hi Folks,
My home setup is 5 2TB disks with 2 SSDs for cache ZIL.
What I have done in the past on Solaris is partition the SSDs to 50/5GB and use the 5GB slices as a mirrored ZIL and the 50s as cache.
This option, while not perfectly ideal (shared disk an' all that) works brilliantly and speed improvement is well worth it. (on current sol NAS I can write at 600MB/s and read about 450).
I have done the same with FreeNAS but through shell and ZFS seems to like it however, the GUI does not see that these disks are used up. Is there there some way to "sync" the GUI with changes I have made to the pool?
Thanks
Crispin
