Upgrade from 11.2-U7 to 11.2-U8 fails to run

My attempt to upgrade to 11.2-U8 has failed with the error message -

Code:

Cannot remove file
/usr/local/lib/python3.6/encodings/__pycache__/charmap.cpython-36.pyc

How can I resolve this?

that's a super strange error. I would try and verify you install and try again. If that doesn't work I think the only other option would be a fresh install and upload your config. Something really random must have happened to your base system.

Apologies for the delay in following up on this. I have had a lot on.

I'm at beginner level here - please be patient. How do you verify an install?

I have never done a reinstall (I've never had to) just new installs as my requirements get bigger. Does that mean saving the config and re-applying it later and all my system settings, users, Samba shares etc will re-appear? Is the config from one version usable by a later version?
