My freenas box has rebooted randomly several times over the past few weeks, it doesn't seem to coincide with any scheduled tasks and this is a new build(early october) so I'm not sure whats going on. It is 12x6tb sas drives raid-z2 running off of a dell r720xd using a Dell H310 hba card flashed for IT mode. Attached is the debug from it.

I dont see much in your logs. Could be hardware related?? Reseat your connections, reseat your ram, and let a ram test run for awhile. I have seen RAM cause this sort of thing.

Is the iDRAC module logging anything?

No Idrac just shows "SYS1003 System CPU Resetting." is there a way to get more verbose logging/reporting out of it than that? From what I could find idrac's logs are just showing the host OS as sending restarting and thats what that message is from. Is there a good ram diag for server hardware specifically or should i just use memtest / ubcd utilities? This is my first time running freenas on server hardware previously I had my old build running off of old desktop hardware.

I'm not as familiar with the 12G Dell iDRAC, but I was looking to eliminate things like voltage fluctuations, uncorrectable memory errors, etc... Unfortunately, "CPU resetting" is one of the messages that offers little useful info. Did it self reset, or did the OS assert it? You might want to dig in the FreeNAS OS logs. Check /var/log/[messages, debug, system, console] for clues.

Are you using encryption, by any chance?

EDIT: Nevermind. You're on 11.3, I just assumed 12.0.

I'm not sure if this will help, but others seem to have reported similar issues: Random Reboot R740

--- Edit ---
Have you checked your firmware?

Thanks! That fix for the r740 seems to have fixed it. Changing the power management in the bios to maximum performance has kept it stable for over a week.
