Folks,

Quick search didn't show any posts with that, so forgive me if duplicating.

I've noticed that messages are showing smartd temps alerts on my system, but when looking at the UI I don't see any temps. See pic below for an example on da7.

It seems there is a delay or lack of synchronization going on. Now the drive temp shows at 39C, but no new message displayed under system messages on the bottom of the UI.

This should be resolved for 11.3 as the middleware that gathers the info is much improved.

I have had the same problem ever since using the new interface. A few days ago, I tried an interesting experiment with 11.2U5:

Under the new interface, disk temps were not being reported. I tried logging in with the legacy interface to see if disk temps were being reported - and yes they were. Then, I logged out of the legacy interface and logged in again with the new interface, and now the temps are working.

I don't know why and I don't know if this will work with older versions of the new interface. But, ever since I logged in one time with the legacy interface, the temps have been working in the new interface.

My problem wasn't temps not reported, but a delay between what smartd and the GUI. I'm using the latest and its there, just didn't check for delays:

Hi,
I have the same problem that no Temperatures are shown in the UI, doesn't matter new or legacy UI.
I remember that in an earlier release the temperatures were sometimes shown and after a wile the were gone. After a reboot they were back again.
Now in U6 no temperatures.

Hi,
Same issue running 11.2-U7.
I did some research a testing. I've 3 same disks on pool. One disc with "HDD Standby" = "Always On", remaining two with "HDD Standby"="20". Temperature is displayed for first disk only, disks with active standby have N/A. Seems like a bug linked to HDD Standby setting.

It's not a bug.
Only the temps of the always running disks a shown in the UI.
FreeNAS don't poll for temperature on HDDs that are not "Always On" because it prevents them from sleeping.

It is a bug.
FreeNAS knows when the disks are in use (reading/writing) and can check then.
