Hey All- I'm running 9.3 Beta. If I install the transmission plugin, leave permissions as is, I can start the plugin.
Default permissions are (owner: root ; group: wheel) :
owner: read/write/execute
group: read/execute
other: read/ execute

If I go to storage, locate the transmission jail dataset, and change the permissions to give "group" or "other" write capabilities, the plugin will fail to start.

Whats going on here?

Thanks for the help and insight.

You should never change ownership or permission levels for you jail dataset(s)! These are operating system files and need certain conditions to run correctly.

You should only change ownership and permission levels for datasets that contain only user data. These you mount into the jail.

I suggest you delete the plugin/jail/dataset and reinstall transmission.
