SOLVED Task notifications via SNS only

I prefer to get notifications only via AWS SNS

However I noticed that cron jobs seem to require *mail.send*

Can I assume this is a bug? Addressed upon https://redmine.ixsystems.com/issues/26004 ?

My workaround is to configure mail.send and not wholly rely on SNS. I am not sure why there is this split in the TrueNAS design.
