System won't boot after controlled power down

Hi all,

I'm setting up my first NAS and have FreeNAS 9.3 installed. Everything was working fine until I connected and attempted to test my UPS config. Upon switching from mains power to UPS, FreeNAS carried out a controlled shutdown, but now when attempting to reboot the server I'm getting "non-system disk or disk error". I've check my BIOS and its set to boot from the USB drive. Any ideas?

I'm only just installing and configuring FreeNAS so it's not a problem if I have to rebuild the USB boot drive, but wondered if there was any other suggestions?

The boot device is probably just toasted enough to be recognized but only serve garbage from the boot sectors. Try replacing it.

Opps Typo! I'm on 9.3. I'm using a Hp proliant gen8 microserver, 8GB RAM - Intel Pentium G2020T / 2.5 GHz ( Dual-Core )

Since you will be replacing your flash drive, consider using two of them and mirror them. The ability to do this is a new feature in version 9.3.
