Have an eSATAp port on my NAS, but if I insert a disk, it is not detected
until after I reboot.
Would be real nice if at least the disk is detected, so I do not have to reboot.
Did not try with USB, but obviously the same is needed here.

Automount, and control from the web page would be even nicer.

FreeNAS supports hot-plugging.... assuming the hardware itself does and the driver that is written for said hardware supports it. So it's not a FreeNAS problem as much as it is more than likely a "cheap esata" problem.

As for USB, it should autodetect the new drive. If not its possible your USB controller isn't compatible with FreeNAS.

As for automount, no way. This isn't Windows. If I wanted stuff to automount, I'd go to Windows. Here in the high performance high reliability world we don't do things automatically.

As for control from the webpage, you already do have control for mounting things. See the manual, the section on auto-importing.
