I have a Supermicro X11SCH-LN4F M.2 NVME and tried to use SSD Samsung 990 pro as boot drive.

On install truenas installer shows "no drives available". It seems that the 990 pro is not recognized by the board. Has nayone experience with his combination and found a solution. Any other recommendation for a working m.2 NVME sss?

Best regards,
Nestor

That's massive overkill for a boot device, but it should work. What other PCIe devices do you have plugged into the system?

No no other PCIe device plugged in.

Well the 990 pro is a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

The specs of the Board state regarding M.2 Interface: PCIe 3.0 x4 (https://www.supermicro.com/de/products/motherboard/x11sch-f) . PCIe 4.0 should backwards compatibel to 3.0, though .

Changed NVMe Firmware Source from "Vendor Defined Firmware" to "AMI Native Support."
and
M.2-P_1 OPROM / M.2-P_2 OPROM from "Legacy" to "EFI"
without success.

The Board has BIOS version 1.8. Current version is 2.1. Udpdated it to 2.1. New try to install Truenas Scale. Still the error message: "No drives available".
